Yesterday afternoon we braved the rain and the leftover holiday traffic to drive from the Nashville area back to Greensboro. It wasn’t the most pleasant trip, but we did have memories of a wonderful time with family and friends. Being with my children and in-laws for several days is always refreshing – and an added treat was to visit the First Presbyterian Church in Lebanon, Tennessee at worship. I was pastor for this congregation for 11 years and it was a special treat to see so many old friends – and a number of children that I had baptized now have children of their own.
Thanksgiving is a special time – and I am feeling especially thankful to God for my history. God is indeed good!
