Saturday night is a traditional night for going out on the town – partying – taking in a movie – staying up late. As a pastor, I have always avoided Saturday night as the time to be away from home. I learned this from my three pastoral mentors, going back into the 1960s. To a man they told me that Saturday night was the final act of preparation for worship on Sunday. As I think about it Christians everywhere should stay home on Saturday night – or at least get in early enough to say their prayers, get a good nights sleep, and arise refreshed on the Lord’s Day – in worship the One who alone is worthy of worship!
