There is something to be said for doing the same thing over and over every year. This is what we do at First Presbyterian Church in Greensboro, next to the post office. We hear the same biblical lessons and sing the same carols every year. What is unique is that every year we are different. This year we remain in Afghanistan; communities like Newtown, Connecticut are grieving the loss of 28 citizens in senseless gun violence and we are all the year older – our families is changed and our bodies change. What is not changed is the ancient gospel lesson that Jesus is born on Christmas and that makes all the difference for us. I hope you will come and worship with us tonight.
