Next Sunday I will be the guest preacher at the 10th Anniversary Celebration of the Providence Presbyterian Church in Cobb County, Georgia. When I was General Presbyter in Cherokee Presbytery one of my primary responsibilities was Evangelism, part of which involved the establishment of new churches. During my nine years in that office I helped plant seven churches and fellowships. I am very gratified by my experience during those years – mostly because of the new friendships and “connections” that were made. Starting new churches is always about making new connections and alliances. This is what we pray for, and this is what God does for us. I hope that your week is filled with new connections and with surprises. Remember, this is only possible as you reach out, in prayer, and try something you have never done before!
