Sunday we observed Fathers Day with phone calls, cards, and gifts to and from people we love. I was blessed with an excellent father who taught me many of my life’s greatest lessons. I many of my best traits came directly from his mouth and from his example. He often said to me and to my brothers, “I am proud of you.” To hear that from a man you admire makes my adulthood and later years richer than I can communicate. Dad died in 1987 and I still miss him. However, I have been blessed with two additional dads: my godfather, Uncle Jules and a youth leader, Bill Koerner. I would have to write pages and pages to fully describe what these three men meant to me over the years but it will suffice to say that they made me the man I am today – and for that I thank God!
