On Sunday we celebrated the extended ending of the Easter Season. Following the seven Sundays of Easter we marveled at God’s power on the Day of Pentecost and then the wonders of the Holy Trinity on Trinity Sunday – focusing on the Trinity and our life in the Triune God as more of a dance than a doctrine.
Now we begin the long liturgical season that is called Ordinary Time – a lengthy collection of Sunday’s during which there is no festive celebration but only the continuing work of the Holy Spirit in our midst. The liturgical color is green, signifying continued growth in the Christian faith and our ministry with and for Jesus Christ I hope you will find this season especially meaningful this year as we read the Gospel of Luke and enjoy his unique emphasis on the more social and missionary characteristics of our faith. I hope you enjoy the journey!
